“A leading Italian manufacturer of ceramic tiles approached Alfa Laval with a request for a heat exchanger capable of preheating a ceramic slurry using recovered heat. None of the previously tested heat exchangers had been able to handle the slurry without clogging, but an Alfa Laval spiral heat exchanger stood the test. The result was a 5 GWh cut in yearly energy consumption per plant and a corresponding 2500 tonnes reduction in CO2 emissions!“
