Six months on from EMEX: reflecting on energy innovation and lasting impact
Six months on from EMEX 2025, the conversations, insights, and connections made at London’s ExCeL continue to shape how organisations approach energy efficiency and decarbonisation.
For us at Contract Energy Management, EMEX 2025 was an opportunity to demonstrate how intelligent HVAC optimisation and energy hunting methodologies can unlock measurable savings for our new and existing clients.
Spotlight on energy efficiency: a standout seminar
A key highlight from the event was the presentation delivered by Ismail Uzman of Alfa Laval as part of the Energy & Carbon Management Strategy theatre.
Titled “Chillers, Cooling Towers & Boilers: Unlocking Energy Savings and Decarbonisation with Energy Efficient Buildings” the session explored how targeted optimisation of core plant systems can deliver significant reductions in both energy consumption and carbon emissions. Watch here.
Drawing on Alfa Laval’s Energy Hunter approach, the presentation focused on identifying inefficiencies within existing systems often uncovering hidden opportunities for performance gains without the need for major capital investment. From heat recovery improvements to smarter system integration, the message was clear: substantial savings are achievable when you understand where energy is being lost.
Insight to action
The themes discussed in the seminar closely align with the work we deliver every day. Through our collaboration with Alfa Laval, we continue to apply these principles across live client environments, turning theoretical efficiency gains into tangible operational improvements.
At EMEX, this partnership enabled us to showcase how combining advanced equipment with data-led analysis can transform HVAC performance. The result is not only reduced energy consumption, but also enhanced system reliability and long-term cost savings.
Across the industry, energy managers are under increasing pressure to deliver both immediate cost savings and long-term carbon reductions. The insights shared at EMEX particularly around optimising chillers, cooling towers, and boiler systems, remain highly relevant as organisations look for practical, scalable solutions.
The continued interest in our Energy Hunter methodology demonstrates a clear shift in mindset: businesses are no longer just investing in new technologies, but actively seeking to maximise the performance of what they already have.
