Welcome Scott Beecham as CEM’s new ‘Department Manager, Heat Transfer & Separation’.

Scott’s career background

Scott brings with him literally a lifetime of heat exchanger experience, showcasing his dedication and passion for the industry and in particular the core product that sits at the heart of our solutions.

Scott started building heat exchangers at 17 years of age as a qualified welder straight out of school. After understanding the product, he joined the service department and became a service engineer to then be promoted to service manager and head of the department. Eventually parting from this role Scott wanted to widen his horizon and became an agent selling industry leading product from the likes of Alfa Laval and Cetetherm. It was on the mark of the millennium that Scott started the business ‘Heat Exchanger Spares’ as GM, which eventually many years later was acquired by EIL Heat Exchangers Ltd, who then sold the business on after a year to Ormandy Group. Going through this transition and having delivered his service for over the past 20 years, change was inevitably on the cards.

In Q3 of 2024 he was headhunted by CEM, Scott had in fact been highly recommended by Alfa Laval due to his recognised passion and reputation for his work. CEM felt that his vast industry experience and knowledge would be a superb addition to the business and with that CEM directors Ross and Roy decided to create a brand-new role for Scott.

“Scott’s new role will see him handle new sales of heat exchangers, spares and repairs on a B2B level. Scott will help to streamline the often-complex servicing and repair process for CEM’s engineers plus provide technical support on projects with external industry professionals.” Rob Brennan – Director, CEM

Scott’s comments:

“I’ve been lucky to witness firsthand the full product development journey that heat exchangers have undergone over the past 30 years of development. My knowledge of materials, parts and manufacturing is a key asset that will improve service project time for the business and their engineers. I will be able to open new sales channels and utilise those previous industry relationships once again from my new role.

I was pleased to sit down at the table with CEM as I knew that they were a well-respected business within the industry and who had some impressive clientele, projects and contracts. I had actually sold them parts years ago and so that’s when they initially appeared on my radar. After speaking with Ross and Roy, it was refreshing that we all were on the same page with my ideas and knew that I could deliver some instant value. With our strategy outlined, I could focus on selling and making money for the business.

My first few days in the Brentford office were very enjoyable, especially with the warm welcome and family vibe, and was at that point when I realised that it would take no time to settle in. Everyone’s happy to help each other and there’s a fantastic office culture and I’m pleased to be part of that, which isn’t a given these days when you join a business.

My day to day can vary, some days I’ll be office based securing parts, providing technical support and planning projects. Other days I might be on site with engineers diagnosing faults and specifying solutions, or just being on hand to ensure a project is delivered smoothly. My aim is to add my value and expertise to CEM’s high quality aftersales service.” Scott Beecham – Department Manager, Heat Transfer & Separation, CEM
